Alex Smith is an eminent domain attorney with extensive litigation experience handling all aspects of a condemnation lawsuit. Alex holds authorship of winning briefs in state and federal courts, and he has successfully argued cases as lead counsel before special commissioners, juries, and courts of appeals throughout the State of Texas.

Alex made Austin, Texas his home in 2017 and served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Presiding Judge Sharon Keller of the Court of Criminal Appeals. In 2019, Alex joined the Transportation Division of the Texas Attorney General’s office. Over nearly five years as an Assistant Attorney General representing the State of Texas, Alex honed an expertise in complex condemnation cases initiated by the Texas Department of Transportation.

Alex is an Eagle Scout from San Antonio, Texas, graduated cum laude from Texas Christian University, and received his law degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law. In 2023, Alex joined the firm’s Austin, Texas office where he now represents Texas landowners and businesses in condemnation matters throughout the State of Texas.
