CR 175 reconstruction and widening project in Williamson County

Williamson County is beginning the process to exercise its eminent domain authority to forcibly take property from landowners along County Road 175 from south of Creek Meadow Cove to RM 2243. The County’s plans include expanding the roadway from a two-lane road to a four-lane divided road. There will be alignment adjustments and the installation of drainage systems. Brady & Hamilton represents landowners affected by public infrastructure projects like the County’s.

The County will take property from landowners along the route, often offering too little compensation. Unless negotiated or litigated carefully and competently, the forced sale will often favor the County because it does not always recognize the true impact on landowners. And although Texas law requires fair compensation for those property rights, the County and its contractors are focused on completing the project, getting the right-of-way it needs, and paying the landowner as little as possible.
