B&H Attorney Pratt Elected as TYLA President-Elect!

Laura Pratt has been elected by the Members of the Texas Young Lawyers Association as President-Elect for 2022-2023. Laura will be the first female president of TYLA from Lubbock.

Pratt is an attorney at Brady & Hamilton, LLP, practicing commercial litigation with a focus on eminent domain, administrative law, and agricultural law. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Texas Tech University School of Law.

Pratt is TYLA’s current vice president, and she previously served for four years as the TYLA District 3 Director. She has served on 15 committees and contributed to numerous TYLA service projects. She is a Texas Bar College member and Texas Bar Foundation fellow.

In Lubbock, she serves on the board of directors for the Lubbock Area Bar Association and the Lubbock County Young Lawyers Association. She frequently speaks to community organizations and schools on various legal topics. She also serves on the Board of Directors for OneVoiceHome, a local non-profit she co-founded in 2015 that supports survivors of sex trafficking. Pratt also regularly volunteers for the Texas Tech University School of Law, Turning Point Community Church, and Upland Heights PTA. She has received several local, state, and national awards for her commitment to service.

TYLA is a division of the State Bar of Texas (SBOT), an administrative agency within the judicial branch of the State of Texas. TYLA’s regular membership includes all members of the State Bar of Texas, irrespective of age, licensed twelve years or less on June 1. Known as the “public service arm” of the SBOT, TYLA, and its members serve the governmental and administrative function of promoting public service by attorneys in their respective communities.
