CONGRATULATIONS TO LAURA PRATT, VICE PRESIDENT OF TEXAS YOUNG LAWYERS ASSOCIATION!
Laura joined Brady & Hamilton, LLP in 2018, practicing commercial litigation, administrative law, and agricultural law with a focus on real property litigation, including eminent domain.
Laura began her legal career in the City of Lubbock Attorney’s Office in 2010. Although originally hired as the assistant city attorney for environmental compliance, her practice areas expanded to include litigation and misdemeanor prosecutions. She regularly advised the city council, city boards, and city staff on various municipal, employment, oil and gas, water, civil service, metropolitan planning, health care, and immigration law issues.
After completing a two-year relocation overseas in the United Arab Emirates and immediately prior to joining Brady & Hamilton, Laura held the position of Executive Director for OneVoiceHome, a local non-profit organization she helped form in 2015, seeking to establish a safe home for girls who have been sexually-exploited or trafficked in the West Texas region. She served in this role for about a year, using her broad experience to transition the organization from the initial concept phase into the operational development phase.
Laura’s community service activities include her work as the former District 3 Director and 2021-2022 Vice President of the Texas Young Lawyers Association and as a director for the Lubbock Area Bar Association. She is also a Texas Bar Foundation fellow and a member of the Texas Bar College. She also serves on the Board of Directors for OneVoiceHome.
