TxDOT 290 Project–Oak Hill to Dripping Springs
The Texas Department of Transportation is currently seeking public feedback on its planned expansion of Highway 290 between Oak Hill and Dripping Springs. TxDOT held a virtual public meeting on January 16, and will hold an in-person meeting on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Central at the Dripping Springs Ranch Event Center.
A public comment period is open for the project is open now through February 4. All the documents related to the project, and an explanation of how to submit written comments, can be found HERE.
The proposed project would reconstruct and widen approximately 13-miles of US 290 from RM 1826 in southwest Austin to just west of RM 12 in Dripping Springs. The roadway would transform from an existing four-lane, undivided roadway to a six-lane divided facility with adjacent frontage roads and shared use paths. The project will cause the displacement of at least 12 residences, and at least 83 non-residential structures.
